Senior Estimator/Lighting Job Title Organization: Dancker, Sellew, and Douglas Location: 236 W. 30th Street, New York, NY Salary Range:   Reports to: Managing Director main purpose of job Provide accurate, competitive, and timely project pricing through systematic and careful drawing take-offs. Job Objectives Effectively read and evaluate architectural and electrical drawings Create and accurate take off of lighting fixtures, emergency fixtures, and lighting controls Read and check lighting specifications to insure they are in sync with layout and application on drawings Interact with professionals (architects designer) when you find inconsistencies in specifications and drawings Check the specifications and quantities against the order when we win a project Estimate lighting changes for bulletins on projects in progress Determine costs and sell amounts to maintain appropriate margins Provide accurate and timely pricing to customers Collaborate with Managing Director on proposals Improve overall project performance Evaluate overall bid process and results and report information to the Managing Director Interaction with manufacturers and factory sales reps to produce competitive and timely pricing Interaction with contractors – follow up on pricing Increase overall project performance   Background Requirements Level of education: General: high school, GED Job related formal training: None Job related work experience: 1-3 years Other requirements: Cahill software a plus, ability to read blueprints, must have understanding of the lighting business, detail oriented, understanding of electrical and bid documents, ability to count fixtures, good communication skills to interact with General Contractors and customers.
