Project Story

NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a professional membership organization that promotes high-quality learning by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. They advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support members who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

After choosing to relocate to a new building, NAEYC and Hickok Cole Architects worked with dancker to co-create and deliver a professional environment that inspires creativity and serves as a resource for NAEYC’s members.

Their new space exemplifies NAEYC’s mission and enables staff and members to ensure that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential. The space offers members a variety of open collaboration spaces where they can gather safely to brainstorm ideas and discuss plans and projects. The work café encourages members to connect and socialize with their peers, while also serving as a flexible environment for either focus work or informal collaboration. The large multipurpose area includes mobile tables to ensure the flexible space can quickly be arranged to meet any group’s needs.
