Washington, DC | 287,000 SF
From a landmark office building to the closest residential community to the White House, Accolade redefines what adaptive reuse can achieve.
Once home to the Department of Justice, the 287,000-square-foot property has been thoughtfully transformed into 243 luxury residences in the heart of downtown Washington, DC. Situated within walking distance of the city’s most influential institutions, restaurants, entertainment, and transportation hubs, Accolade brings new life to a building deeply rooted in the nation’s capital.
Partnering with developer Foulger-Pratt and design firm WDG, our Lifestyle Studio helped support the property’s vision for elevated urban living. The project presented a unique opportunity to preserve the significance of an iconic address while creating a welcoming residential experience designed for the way people live today.
Thoughtfully furnished amenity spaces and residences complement the building’s transformation, balancing comfort, functionality, and style. The result is a destination that honors its storied past while creating opportunities for connection, convenience, and modern city living. From panoramic city views and curated amenities to its unmatched location near the White House, Accolade offers residents a living experience unlike any other in Washington, DC.
By helping bring this vision to life, dancker contributed to the transformation of a former government office building into a vibrant residential community, demonstrating how thoughtful design and strong partnerships can turn existing spaces into places people are proud to call home.
