Designing Spaces that Support Moments that Matter
For more than three decades, Selective Insurance has trusted dancker as a workplace partner. When they decided to relocate their headquarters to Short Hills, New Jersey, dancker worked with Selective and their design partner, Mancini Duffy, to create an environment that supported collaboration, employee well-being, and the evolving ways people work.
The new four-story headquarters brings together a variety of spaces designed to support focused work, informal collaboration, leadership engagement, and employee connection. To help bring that vision to life, dancker coordinated furniture planning, delivery, and installation across the project while working closely with Selective Insurance, Mancini Duffy, and all project stakeholders throughout the process.
The Challenge: Workplace Design and Furniture Planning for a Complex Headquarters
A workplace of this scale requires more than selecting furniture and accessories. Every decision must support how employees interact with the space while aligning with brand standards, project schedules, and long-term operational goals.
The project involved extensive coordination among multiple partners, including highly customized scope for leadership spaces. Beyond the normal challenges inherent in a project of this size, One of the most visible challenges involved installing a custom boardroom table that ultimately had to be lifted into the building by crane to reach its final destination.
The Solution: Creating a Workplace That Works
dancker provided comprehensive furniture planning and project coordination services to help ensure every space supported the organization’s workplace objectives. From individual work settings to collaborative gathering areas, furniture solutions were selected and installed to support flexibility, comfort, and productivity.
Working alongside project partners, dancker helped translate the workplace vision into an environment that balances functionality, aesthetics, and employee experience.
The Result: Enhancing Employee Experience Through Workplace Design
The finished headquarters delivers a workplace experience built around people. The new environment supports collaboration, connection, and productivity while reflecting Selective Insurance’s culture and future goals. The project also continues a trusted client relationship that spans more than 30 years.
